 Silent Letter "Ll"


The letter "Ll" is silent in some words. It is usually silent in the following instances:

* When it comes after the letter "a"

     Example: palm, Psalm

* When it comes between the letters "a" and "k"

    Example: chalk, walk

* When it comes between "a" and "m"

    Example: palm, calm

* In some cases when it comes before the letter "d"

   Example: would, could
