The Lungs
The Lungs
Our lungs are part of the breathing or respiratory system. They are joined to your nostrils and mouth by a tube called windpipe.
Our lungs help us to breathe. They are two in number. When we breathe, our chest expands, as the lungs fill or inflate with air. This air we breathe in is called Oxygen. Oxygen travels in our blood to all parts of the body.
The air we breathe out is called carbon dioxide. It is poisonous and so it is exhaled from the body.
Trees provide the oxygen we inhale, and use the carbon dioxide we exhale.
