Objectives:
1. For students to readily identify letter "s" and associate it with its sound.
2. Tell the location (i.e. beginning, middle, end) of the "s" sound in a number of one syllable words
3. Learn and practise mouth formations for different sounds of the alphabet (S)
CONTENT:
ENGAGE:
Students will listen to words below as teacher calls them.
Try to pronounce the words and stress the sound heard.
They will make the sound heard again.
Pay attention to mouth formation as the sound is made.
EXPLORE:
Students will listen to the video clip below, then form the letter "s" in the air then in their books.
EXPLAIN
Make the sound of letter "s".
Form the letter "s" in their books correctly. (Upper and Lower cases)
Supply other words which begin with letter "S" sound.
ELABORATE:
(1) Watch the video clip below and guess the words that begin with letter 's'.
(2) Listen to a group of words read by teacher, then clap once if the "s" sound is heard at the beginning, clap twice if heard in the middle, and three times if heard at the end of words.
