 TOPIC: Letter Sound "Tt" 


OBJECTIVES:

1. Learn and practise mouth formation for different sounds of the alphabet

2. Identify letter "t" and associate with sound 

3. Identify words with letter sound "t".

4. Identify position of sound (initial, ending)



CONTENT :

The letter "T" is a letter in the alphabet. It is a consonant. 



ENGAGE:

Look at all the pictures as teacher points at them. Name them orally.





Students will be told to tell what they noticed about the words as they are called again. Teacher will write the words on the board and have students repeating them, while stressing the initial sound. (Expected answer- T sound heard)

They will make the sound again, paying attention to lip formation.

Tell which letter of the alphabet makes that sound.


EXPLORE:

Listen to youtube video to learn more about letter "Tt". (Upper case, Lower case, sound, etc.)

Video Clip

 Identify the position of the "Tt" sound words heard in the video clip as teacher pauses at intervals. (beginning, ending )

Students will do a blending activity after reviewing the sounds /s/, /a// and /t/.

eg.(1)  /s/ /a/ /t/ sat              

(teacher will assist students to blend sounds  then read the words). 

     (2)  /a/ /t/ at


EXPLAIN:

Write the letter "Tt" in the air and in their books.

Make the sound of the "Tt" orally

Listen to words as teacher calls them and clap when they hear the "t" sound.

Supply new words with initial "t" sound


ELABORATE:

Listen to the video clip below to identify ending sound "t".

Video clip 2- ending sound

Pronounce the words heard, stressing the ending sound "t".

Supply other words with ending "Tt" sound.
