OBJECTIVES:
1. Learn and practise mouth formation for different sounds of the alphabet ("i")
2. Blend phonemes to form words
3. Substitute consonant sounds in words with similar rhymes to derive new words
4. Learn and use basic sight words
CONTENT :
The letter "I i" is a letter in the alphabet. It is another of the special letters. It is the third of the five vowels. It has a long sound and a short sound.
ENGAGE:
Teacher will revise sounds learnt in previous lessons. (/s/, /a/ and /t/).

Teacher will have students making the sound by wiggling their fingers on the end of their nose like whiskers, while saying "i,i,i')
EXPLORE:
Further discuss the contents of the video. ie. where the Sound /i/ is heard, whether initial or middle.
Switch consonants to form new words to make word families. Eg /p/ig/, /d/ig/, /l/id/, /h/id/,

Examine how the letter "Ii" is written, then make same in the air and in their books.
