OBJECTIVES:

CONTENT :
The letter "Ee" is the fifth letter of the alphabet. It is a special letter. It is the second vowel. It has a long sound and a short sound. It is an unusual letter because it starts in the middle. Examine the common "e" below.

Students will make the sound of the short /Ee/, while paying attention to mouth formation.

EXPLAIN:
Supply words with initial short /e/ sounds.
Determine the location of the /e/ sound in words (initial, middle).
Make the sound of short /e/.
Form both upper and lower case "Ee".
ELABORATE:
Dictate the words set, ten, peck, neck, net, pet, sent, tent, step, nest, pest, spent, kept, test, spent
Students will hold up a finger for each sound heard. Teacher will have individual students spelling the words orally.
Teacher will have students segmenting phonemes to call the words above fluently together again.
