  Kilometer, Meter and Centimeter  Kilometer, meter and centimeter are units of measurement. The abbreviation for kilometer is km, the abbreviation for meter is "m" while the abbreviation for centimeter is "cm".   ELEMENTS OF  A STORY Stories have what are called elements. Let us look at the definition for each element below. The THEME is the message the author or writer is trying to bring across. We can use story maps to map our tell our stories quickly. Story Mapping Let's listen to the story in the video below. The Lungs

  The Lungs Our lungs are part of the breathing or respiratory system . They are joined to your nostril s and mouth by a tube called windpipe . Our lungs help us to breathe. They are two in number. When we breathe, our chest expands, as the lungs fill or inflate with air. This air we breathe in is called Oxygen . Oxygen travels in our blood to all parts of the body. The air we breathe out is called carbon dioxide . It is poisonous and so it is exhaled from the body. Trees provide the oxygen we inhale , and use the carbon dioxide we exhale .   CONJUNCTION - (But) Conjunctions are used to join sentences. Some conjunctions are and, but, or, however and because .  "And", "but" and "or" are used often.
